CM Punk WWE return: Is a WWE return on the Cards for the Straight Edge Superstar? | WWE News
CM Punk WWE return: Is a WWE return on the Cards for the Straight Edge Superstar? There might be one according to an ex WWE writer.
Ever since CM punk walked out on WWE following the 2014 Royal Rumble, fans have been crying and pleading for the Straight Edge Superstar to make a comeback. Punk has explicitly stated in the past that he is done with wrestling and the fans have grudgingly accepted it. That was until last month when a masked man appeared at a wrestling event in Wisconsin and delivered the GTS on Daryck St. Holmes.
It was later revealed that not only was the masked man CM Punk but he had also appeared on several independent shows in the last few years. The clamoring for his return has grown more ever since. The superstar though has remained unmoved and claims he will never return to the business.
However, if Ex WWE writer Brad Shepard is to be believed then punks former employees are looking for more than just a secret appearance. Ringside News quoted Brad Shepard saying “I was told that [WWE] would love to have him back which I found very interesting.” He made the comment on the ‘Oh, You Didn’t Know podcast’.

During his stint with the WWE, CM Punk became extremely popular, both for his in-ring action and charisma off it. He had six world title reigns in the promotion, one of which was a record 434-day reign. He walked out on the company over creative differences and was later fired on his wedding day.
The circumstances surrounding his exit make his return seem unlikely but there are others who have left on worse terms and still made a comeback (here’s looking at you Brett Hart).
If true, one can’t help but feel that Vince’s desire for a CM Punk WWE return is born out of an attempt to keep him away from Tony Khan’s AEW, who were also reportedly interested in signing the star. Regardless, If punk does come back, wrestling fans around the world will scream in joy and mark out, no matter which promotion he turns up for.
