Indian coach Ravi Shastri sure knows how to extract the best our of his players, and the results do back him up as he has overseen a brilliant home season for Team India.

After an impressive spell as the Team director a couple of years ago, Shastri has now taken up more responsibilities as the head coach, after he succeeded Anil Kumble post the Champions Trophy earlier this year.
Shastri has a particularly good rapport with Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the pair’s relationship has grown by leaps and bounds since their first association a couple of years back.

In an exclusive interview with CCN-News 18, Ravi Shastri opened up his close relationship with Virat Kohli.
It is no secret that both compliment and get along well with each other. What really makes their bond good is that the tremendous trust that they built so far.
“Equation is great. We are similar personalities like you mentioned. There is an element of trust in our relationship,” Shastri said.
Possessing similar wavelengths, both are competitive and they always want to press well in a bid to win games.”
Ravi Shastri opened up on how he and Kohli share a similar mindset. This makes their job easier to sketch a route map in order to achieve their targets.
“We are both strong-minded and both play to win at all costs. We play to win. We don’t go there to do time-pass.
This is not a team that is out there to fill up the numbers. We want to compete. We want to take the game forward.
He is pretty similar in his mindset when it comes to that and he is in your face kind of character. With Virat Kohli what you see is what you get,” Shastri concluded.
