Aakash Chopra Labels Suryakumar Yadav And Rashid Khan As 'Two Of The Best T20 Players Of All Time'

Former India batter Aakash Chopra reckons Mumbai Indians vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav and Gujarat Titans vice-captain Rashid Khan are two of the best T20 players of all time. If truth be told, one doesn’t have many options than to agree with Chopra especially on a night when both Yadav and Khan put on display their prowess in the shortest format.

Coming on the back of a shocker of an ODI series before the start of Indian Premier League 2023, Yadav didn’t take a lot of time before finding solace in his most preferred format. Although still behind the Top Two by some margin, Yadav has reached to the third spot in the list of highest run-scorers in the ongoing 16th season of the IPL post a maiden century.

Khan, meanwhile, also put on a spectacle at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday. When none of his teammates conceded less than 9 runs per over, Khan registered bowling figures of 4-0-30-4 which included dismissing both MI opening batters in his first over itself.

Batting at No. 8 with his team needing 119 runs in eight overs, Khan managed to entertain thousands of fans at the venue by playing a career-best T20 knock. Once acknowledged by former India captain Virat Kohli, Khan’s batting skills weren’t showcased for the first time in the recently concluded match. However, him contributing substantially across both the innings paved way for a praiseworthy performance.

Currently calling IPL 2023 matches for Jio CinemaChopra took to social media platform Twitter after the culmination of the match. Mesmerized by Yadav and Khan’s apposite execution of their mastery, Chopra didn’t mince his words to label them as among the best to have ever played T20 cricket.

Unlike Khan, Yadav didn’t make a name for himself at a young age. However, the 32-year old player has taken only a couple of years or so to enthrall the worldwide cricketing fraternity with his style of play. It is due to the same reason that some comparisons with former South Africa captain AB de Villiers have started to rate him highly than the latter.

Speaking of Khan, he already has over 550 T20 wickets at the age of 24. Assuming he continues at the same pace, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him become the most successful T20 bowler ever in the future.
