Andre Fletcher cricket: Watch Spiceman grabs dual stunners vs Hurricanes; follows them with dancing celebration

Andre Fletcher: Melbourne Stars opening batsman changed the match via his fielding performance at the Blundstone Arena.

During the 27th match of the ongoing 10th season of the Big Bash League between Melbourne Stars and Hobart Hurricanes in Hobart, Melbourne Stars opening batsman Andre Fletcher put on display a game-changing performance on the field to register two stunning catches.

Fletcher, who got out after scoring 10 (4) after Hobart captain Peter Handscomb won the toss and chose to field and has contributed a total of 72 runs in seven innings at an average of 12 this season, made amends on the field to follow his effort with equally likeable dance moves.

On the penultimate delivery of the 17th over, Hurricanes batsman Colin Ingram (17) hit a Billy Stanlake delivery over the cover region. While Ingram would’ve thought of hitting the ball in the gap, Fletcher appeared from nowhere to grab a flying catch in a crunch situation of a 184-run chase.

Needing 21 runs to win from the last seven balls, Hurricanes wicket-keeper batsman Ben McDermott (91) played a similar shot as that of Ingram off a full-toss from Liam Hatcher. With Fletcher fielding at the sweeper cover again, he proved that his previous catch wasn’t a fluke. In what would’ve been a six otherwise, Fletcher completing a magnificent catch worked wonders for the Stars.

Despite Handscomb scoring 21 (9), Hobart fell short by 10 runs as Melbourne Stars won their third match of the season. With bowling figures of 4-0-22-2, Stars pacer Sam Rainbird was the pick of their bowlers.
