Arun Jaitley Stadium Delhi Pitch Report for DC vs KKR IPL 2023 Match
The 28th match of the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League will take place between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders tomorrow, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Not many teams have bounced back after suffering five consecutive losses in the opening matches of the season itself, but having hit rock bottom, DC perhaps need to convince themselves that there’s no way they could further go down South.
Their skipper David Warner could possibly be the spark that they need in the batting order, which has only blown cold so far. His dismal strike rate has nearly diminished the value of runs he’s scored, and a couple of onslaughts is perhaps what his side might need to infuse some new energy in their campaign.
KKR, on the other hand, have only a couple of individual performances to boast of in what has been a rather ordinary season for them so far as well. Both their batters and bowlers have shown glimpses of what they are capable of in the matches so far, and they would believe it is time that they perform as a unit in order to take their team over the line.
Arun Jaitley Stadium Delhi Pitch Report for DC vs KKR IPL 2023 Match
The Arun Jaitley Stadium is one of the very few match venues this season where the pitch generally plays on the slower side.
The batters will find it challenging to hit the fifth gear right from the get-go, and will have to get used to the pace of the surface in order to play their strokes.
“I was backing my confidence, went with an attacking mindset and the plan was if the ball was in my slot and I’d go for it. The ball was stopping a bit and I wanted to hold my shape while trying for the big hits,” remarked Axar Patel after the first innings at this venue, during DC’s match against MI.
As for the bowlers, spinners are yet again likely to have an upper hand in the match proceedings. Rashid Khan and Piyush Chawla bagged some crucial wickets at this venue during their previous matches, to hand DC defeats in both them respectively.
With batting conditions are likely to get better as the match progresses, expect the captain winning the Toss to field first.
