The Big Bash League 2022-23 season is set to start tomorrow with the match between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars at Canberra’s Manuka Oval Stadium. A total of 56 league matches will be played in the tournament with every team playing against their opponents twice.

Perth Scorchers won the tournament last season, and they will be eager to do the same this season as well. However, the injuries to Mitch Marsh and Phil Salt has de-railed their campaign. An International player’s draft took place for the first time in the history of the tournament.
The tournament will be played across a record 17 venues this season. There will be a lot of movements in the team as most of the international players will depart after the halfway stage to take part in the other T20 leagues around the world.
Hobart’s Ben McDermott was the highest run-scorer of the last season with 577 runs, whereas Adelaide’s Peter Siddle was the highest wicket-taker with 30 wickets. The players like Steve Smith, David Warner, Cameron Green, etc, will also be playing this season.
