During the 31st match of the ongoing 10th season of the Big Bash League between Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder in Perth, Sydney Thunder all-rounder Ben Cutting played some hard-hitting shots towards the end of the innings to propel his team to 167/5 in 20 overs.
Coming in to bat at No. 7 in the 15th over, Cutting shared an unbeaten 57-run partnership alongside batsman Alex Ross (44*) as the pair played a rescue act after their innings fell apart in the middle overs.
Cutting, who ended up scoring 31* (14) with the help of four fours and a six, hit his solitary six off Hobart Hurricanes pacer Nathan Ellis on the last delivery of the penultimate over.

Cleaning his front leg against an ordinary delivery, Cutting hit the ball hard to the extent that it hit the upper deck of the Perth Stadium as Hurricanes captain Peter Handscomb at long-on remained a mere spectator.
After Handscomb won the toss and chose to field, Thunder opening batsman Usman Khawaja top-scored for his team with an eye-catching 49 (33) comprising of six fours.
It was Hobart’s spin duo of D’Arcy Short (4-0-26-3) and Sandeep Lamichhane (4-0-23-1) which ensured that Sydney didn’t make the most of their 59-run opening stand between Khawaja and Alex Hales (21).
