During the 13th match of the ongoing season of Road Safety World Series between India Legends and South Africa Legends in Raipur, India Legends captain Sachin Tendulkar scored a half-century to entice voices of “Sachin Sachin” in the stadium.
Opening the batting with Virender Sehwag (6), Tendulkar put together a 95-run partnership for the second wicket alongside batsman Subramaniam Badrinath to lay a solid foundation for the remaining batsmen.
With South Africa Legends pacer Makhaya Ntini taking the new ball, Tendulkar hit as many as three fours off him in his first two overs. Tendulkar, who hit an archetype straight drive off Ntini against the new ball, sort of rewound the clock to mesmerize his bountiful fans.
It was in the 12th over of the innings when Tendulkar attacked South Africa Legends spinner Thandi Tshabalala hitting him for two fours and a six to up the ante. It was in the same over that Tendulkar went past the 50-run mark.
Having hit a couple of boundaries through the third-man region off Monde Zondeki in the 13th over, Tendulkar aimed to hit another through the off-side only to be caught brilliantly by Tshabalala at mid-off. Tendulkar, who scored 60 (37) with the help of nine fours and a six, put on display an innings to remember for one and all.
