Church Street Park Morrisville Pitch Report for MLC 2023 Matches

After eight matches in Dallas, the caravan of the inaugural season of the Major League Cricket will now move to Morrisville. Church Street Park is set to host the next seven matches of the first season. With the track getting really tough to bat on in the last matches in Dallas, fans would expect the situation to improve in a new city.

Los Angeles Knight Riders will take on Washington Freedom in the first match at this venue. The Knight Riders are in search of their first win after three consecutive losses. A defeat in this match might end their campaign. The middle-order of the side has been their biggest weakness so far in the tournament.

Washington Freedom have won one of their two matches this season till now. The duo of Matthew Short and Glenn Phillips will be vital in the batting department. Moreover, captain Moises Henriques is also an asset with both the bat and the ball. Bowling has been the biggest area of strength for Washington.

Morrisville Pitch Report

The batters are set to get some respite in Morrisville as a fresh track will be used here. This stadium has not hosted a single professional game so far and we can expect a pitch that will be good for batting. A hard surface will favour the new ball bowlers in the initial overs. Once set, the batters will be able to play their shots.

A few of the Minor League Cricket matches were played here where the pacers were more successful than the spinners. The outfield is expected to be a fast one and the fielders will find it tough to stop the ball once placed in the gap. Even the boundaries are not that big and the batters will be able to smash boundaries.

Both teams won’t have much idea about how the wicket will behave and bowling first is always the best decision in these scenarios. Anything above 170 runs is expected to be a good score considering the brand new wicket in mind.
