Team India received a blow as Washington Sundar is ruled out of the England T20Is.

India defeated Ireland in an emphatic fashion on Friday, as the two-match T20I series finished 2-0. The team now faces tough test against England, as the Men in Blue takes on the Three Lions in a three-match T20I series, which starts from June 3.

Coach Ravi Shastri and captain Virat Kohli ensured all the players, bar Washington Sundar, get a run in the two matches against Ireland, to gear up for the long tour to England. Washington Sundar was reported to be injured.

It has been confirmed now that Sundar is indeed injured. The team received a major shock when Jasprit Bumrah was announced unavailable for the England T20Is, but now, Sundar has also been ruled out.

It was earlier reported that Washington Sundar had sustained a niggle after the first T20I, which kept him on the sidelines for the second match. The extent of the injury is not yet known, but the fact that Sundar is ruled out of the England T20Is signifies that the injury may have had serious repercussions.

Jasprit Bumrah was earlier ruled out due to a fractured finger which he sustained in the last over of the 1st T20I between Indian and Ireland.

A video of Washington Sundar limping out of India’s training session was earlier posted online, where the team physio was seen assisting the player.

Sundar is also a part of India’s ODI squad against England. The team is scheduled to play three T20Is and three ODIs before the five-match test series kick-starts in August.
