DC vs CSK Pitch Report of Arun Jaitley Stadium for IPL 2023 Match in Delhi

The 67th league match of Indian Premier League 2023 will be played between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This is the last match in the capital city of the ongoing season and there is a lot of excitement about this match because of CSK’s captain MS Dhoni.

Delhi Capitals are out of the tournament but they will aim to ruin the game of other teams. The way this team played in the last match was exceptional where the batters of the side were in prolific form. This side would again want to display a brilliant performance in front of their home fans.

Chennai Super Kings will seal their place in the playoffs if they can win this match. However, if they lose here, they will have to depend on other results. The pitch here will be loved by Chennai and they will have an advantage here.

The pitch in Delhi has shown varied behaviour throughout the current IPL season. In some of the matches, it has been a batting beauty, but it was really tough to bat on in the last match here. The spinners dominated in that match and shot playing really tough. However, Punjab Kings’ opener Prabhsimran Singh made a century in that match.

A total of six matches have been played so far, where four matches have been won by the chasing teams. The average first innings score has been 167 runs, which is a relatively smaller score as compared to other venues. This will be the seventh match here, so the bounce is expected to be low.

“The batters might perhaps target straight, use their feet and once they get set perhaps use the square boundaries. Because of the low bounce and the ball not coming on nicely, probably chasing a better option,” Kevin Pietersen said in his pitch assessment on Star Sports ahead of the DC vs PBKS match.

The boundaries are very small on this venue and the outfield is pretty fast as well. Considering the dew factor, both captains may love to bowl first after winning the toss. Anything above 175 can be a good score here.
