Ekana Sports City Pitch Report for LKN vs RCB IPL 2023 Match in Lucknow

Lucknow Super Giants will lock horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 43rd match of Indian Premier League 2023. The match will be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Both teams produced a mouth-watering encounter the last time they played earlier this season.

The Super Giants’ batters were at their very best against Punjab where they posted a total of 257 runs. Marcus Stoinis’ got injured in the last match and his fitness will be a key to Lucknow’s success. Nicholas Pooran’s form has been excellent as a finisher, whereas spinner Ravi Bishnoi’s has been great as well with the ball.

Royal Challengers Bangalore lost their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders and they will aim to bounce back. This team’s batting is just reliant on their three star batters and it is the biggest weakness of the side. Pacer Mohammed Siraj and spinner Wanindu Hasranga are the star bowlers of Bangalore.

The nature of the pitch in Lucknow is quite difficult to predict as it depends on the nature of the soil. There are two kinds of soils available here i.e. red soil and black soil. Out of four matches here so far, the black soil pitches have been used three times. If the same happens in this match, we are set for another low-scoring affair.

We have seen low and slow surfaces in Lucknow so far. The batters have found it really tough to time the ball here, and despite smaller ground dimensions, the boundaries haven’t flown that easily here. It is certain that the spinners will again be huge in this match as well. Batting first won’t be a bad idea on these kinds of tracks

The batters of Lucknow were in smashing form in the last match, if the team prefers to play on a red-soil pitch, the runs can flow. Although the Super Giants have some brilliant spinners and they may stick to playing on slower surfaces.
