Garg cricket: Twitter reactions on Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma's 77-run partnership vs CSK

Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma: The rookie Sunrisers Hyderabad duo stitched together a game-changing 77-run partnership in Dubai.

During the 14th match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Dubai, Sunrisers Hyderabad rookie duo of Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma joined hands to stitch a game-changing 77-run partnership.

After Hyderabad captain David Warner (28) won the toss and chose to bat, their innings got off to not the best of starts. With Warner and Kane Williamson (9) getting out on consecutive deliveries in the 11th over, SRH were struggling with only 69 runs on the board.

Having hit a four off Chennai Super Kings spinner Piyush Chawla in the 13th over, the senior out of the two in Sharma took on CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in the following over. After reverse-sweeping the left-arm spinner for a four, Sharma hit the next delivery for a six over mid-wicket.

Just as Garg was getting his eye in, Sharma hit another boundary off veteran Chennai all-rounder Dwayne Bravo to keep the scoreboard moving.

Garg, who hit a four off Shardul Thakur in the 16th over, scored two fours and a six off Chennai all-rounder Sam Curran in the next over to announce himself in the biggest T20 league.

After receiving a couple of reprieves off Deepak Chahar in the 18th over, Sharma departed after scoring a well-made 31 (24) with the help of four fours and a six.

Garg, on the other hand, continued to score quick runs as his maiden IPL half-century powered Hyderabad to 164/5 in 20 overs. The 19-year old player ended up scoring 51* (26) with the help of six fours and a six.
