As the wait continues to determine the winner of Indian Premier League 2023, former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has expressed his awe at Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni and his ever-increasing fan base.

For the past three seasons and through all the queries with respect to his final IPL season, the 41-year-old has led CSK to the brink of yet another title triumph. With the tournament also returning to its usual home-away format this year, it is fair to say that courtesy of a one-man factor, each of the Yellow Army’s matches this season have had the feeling of home matches.
Be it the ever-increasing decibel levels at the toss, during post-match presentations, or every moment he stepped on the field with his bat in hand, Dhoni’s fandom was at the top of the list of highlights this season.
Angelo Mathews Venerates MS Dhoni; Expects Him To Play IPL 2024
Perhaps taking note of all the love and support that his former Indian counterpart had received this year, Mathews took to his social media platform Twitter to salute him on the amount of wealth in the form of unadulterated love he has managed to receive from his fans.
Praising his character and overall personality cult, the 35-year-old also added that he expects Dhoni to play during IPL 2024 as well.
The support @msdhoni has and the amount of hearts he has won is insane! Shows the true character of the phenomenal person he is ! Hope he plays the next season too!

Will MS Dhoni Play IPL 2024?
This very question has followed him like an afternoon shadow during events and post-match presentations. Akin the preceding seasons, he has not come up with a clear-cut answer to the same. On the contrary, he has specifically mentioned that he has ample time to decide on it.
“I don’t know. I have 8-9 months to decide. Why take that headache now? I’ll always be there for CSK, where it’s playing or something outside,” Dhoni had remarked to the very question post the IPL 2023 Qualifier 1 against Gujarat Titans last week.
UPDATE: MS Dhoni hasn’t retired from the IPL.
