During the fourth match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings in Sharjah, Rajasthan Royals fast bowlers in Jofra Archer and Tom Curran (10*) took on the attack against Chennai Super Kings pacer Lungi Ngidi to score 30 runs in the last over.
Coming in to bat at No. 9 in the penultimate over, Archer hit his second ball for a soaring six off Ngidi. On the second ball of the over, Archer hit a short delivery from Ngidi towards the mid-wicket region for a mountainous six which ended up on the roof.
On the next two deliveries, Ngidi overstepped only to be hit for another two sixes from Archer. Having conceded 27 runs on the first two deliveries, Ngidi was in contention to concede the most runs in an over (37) in the IPL.
After losing momentum towards the business end, Royals crossed the 200-run mark on the back of Archer scoring 27* (8) with the help of four sixes.
However, the right-arm bowled pulled things back to be hit for only three singles on the last four deliveries. In the process, Ngidi (4-0-56-1) became the most expensive bowler tonight after CSK spinner Piyush Chawla (4-0-55-1).
Jofra Archer and Tom Curran collect 30 runs
Earlier, Chawla was attacked by Royals wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson who hit the veteran spinner for 28 runs in the eighth over. Samson, who blasted his way to score 74 (32) with the help of one four and nine sixes, played a pivotal role in RR scoring 216/7 in 20 overs.
It is worth mentioning that Samson had shared a 121-run stand for the second wicket alongside captain Steve Smith (69). With bowling figures of 4-0-33-3, Chennai all-rounder Sam Curran was the pick of their bowlers.

What a finish by @JofraArcher taking @rajasthanroyals to 216.
Very surprised that @NgidiLungi didn’t even try to bowl a single yorker in the last over. #CSKvsRR— Sachin Tendulkar (@sachin_rt) September 22, 2020
