"Loving the form": RCB's AB de Villiers appreciates Virat Kohli's training video ahead of reaching India for IPL 2021

AB de Villiers appreciates Virat Kohli’s training video: The former South African captain tweeted before leaving South Africa for IPL 2021.

Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers has “packed to join” Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League.

de Villiers, 37, had last played competitive cricket for RCB only during the 13th season of the IPL in the UAE scoring 454 runs in 14 innings at an average and strike rate of 45.40 and 158.74 respectively.

The swashbuckling batsman posted a photo of himself with his packed bags across his social media handles before boarding the flight to India.

On Twitter, de Villiers commented under RCB captain Virat Kohli’s post, who uploaded a video of himself on a treadmill a day after beating England 2-1 in Pune.

“No rest days. From here on its all about speed #IPL,” read the caption of Kohli’s tweet as he was seen working out in an indoor facility.

Loving the form @imVkohli .. I’m all packed to join the team,” de Villiers replied on Kohli’s tweet.

In 130 IPL innings for Royal Challengers, de Villiers has amassed 4,178 runs at an average and strike rate of 42.20 and 159.47 respectively. The right-hand batsman also has two centuries and 35 half-centuries to his name in his decade-long career at Bangalore.

Despite both him and Kohli dominating the opposition bowlers for years in the IPL, Royal Challengers are yet to win a title which is highly likely to be their primary aim ahead of IPL 2021. Having played together for so many years, players of their quality will be itching to lift an IPL title.
