Moeen Ali IPL price: CSK buy Moeen Ali after intense battle with Punjab Kings; Rajasthan Royals pick Shivam Dube

Rajasthan Royals pick Shivam Dube: The Indian all-rounder enticed interest from two franchises as expected because of his skills.

Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings fulfilled their solitary overseas quota by buying England all-rounder Moeen Ali. Super Kings, who were in desperate need of an off-spinner, were likely to bid for Ali.

Ali, 33, who had narrowly missed scoring the fastest Test half-century against India in Chennai the other day, ignited a bidding contest between CSK and Punjab Kings.

Despite Punjab Kings having the biggest purse with them, Super Kings were bullish enough on Ali to buy him for a whopping INR 7 crore. Having played under Virat Kohli at Royal Challengers Bangalore for three seasons, Ali will now play under former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni at Chennai.

Rajasthan Royals pick Shivam Dube

India all-rounder Shivam Dube, who was Ali’s teammate at RCB last season, has been bought by Rajasthan Royals for INR 4.4 crore. Coming on the back of spending a couple of years at RCB, the hard-hitting all-rounder is likely to leave an impact at Rajasthan.

Having made a solitary ODI and 13 T20Is for India, Dube wasn’t part of the national squad after India’s tour of New Zealand last year. In five matches for Mumbai in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Dube had been their top-scorer with his 161 runs coming at an average and strike rate of 40.25 and 138.79 respectively.
