MS Dhoni Vintage Cars: All We Know About CSK Captain's Timeless Four-Wheelers

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni was recently spotted driving a couple of vintage cars in his hometown of Ranchi. Much like anything to do with the legendary cricketer, both clips got viral across social media platforms which made fans curious about the number of such cars Dhoni has in his garage. It is known to everyone that Dhoni has a special love for automobiles.

Even during the COVID-19 lockdown, Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni had revealed in an Instagram Live that Dhoni assembled some bikes on his own. Apart from cars, Dhoni is also fond of a crazy bike collection.

Dhoni was seen driving Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am and Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II a few days ago. Sakshi has shared quite a few pictures on her Instagram handle of Dhoni’s cars. Land Rover Series Station Wagon (1972 edition) has to be the most unique-looking car that Dhoni owns because it is very rare to find it on Indian roads.

Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am

Dhoni gifted himself this beautiful red car after announcing his international retirement. This model is said to be about 40-year old and looks extremely stylish. It is a two-door convertible car launched in 1969. The car also has a four-speed Muncie transmission with a Hurst shifter.

There is a 455 big-block V8 engine which produces a torque of 325 bhp. The exact price of the mode is certainly not known. However, according to auto.hindustantimes.com, an auction took place in Mumbai last year where the same model got sold out for INR 68.31 lakh.

Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II

This premium luxury sedan was launched by the company in 1977. Despite being such an old model, Rolls Royce did not compromise on luxury and comfort. There are adjustable heating and vents along with radio knobs inside the car. This model can easily touch a speed of around 130 m/h.

This model is powered by a V8 engine that comes with a GM-sourced Hydramatic gearbox, along with a triple-circuit braking system. There is no exact information regarding when Dhoni bought this car and at what price.

1972 Land Rover Series Station Wagon

This is the latest addition to Dhoni’s vintage car collection. Dhoni had bought this beauty of a car last year at the Big Boy Toyz auction. However, there is no hint regarding the exact bid made by Dhoni. Considering that it is one of the most popular models of the company, this is another rare car for Indian roads.

It is a 4×4 car that comes with a 2,625 cc engine. This is perfectly built for driving in tough terrains because of the power it possesses. Dhoni’s car is yellow in colour and has a white dual-tone finish.

1969 Ford Mustang

It seems as if wicket-keepers have a love affair with the Mustang. Current players such as Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant also have this car, but Dhoni’s one is a vintage model. The car has a 5.0 litre V8 engine that produces 221 bhp and 406 Nm of peak torque.

It is a classic sporty-looking car that comes that does not compromise on comfort. Dhoni bought this car in 2021 in black colour. This is a two-seater car and its price is said to be around INR 75 lakh. Furthermore, the seats of the car are covered with Italian leather.
