Titans have played a total of seven matches this season in the city and they played the final of IPL 2022 here as well. If they win this match, they will get one more opportunity to play in front of their home fans. However, in the final, we may see a sea of fans in yellow because of the MS Dhoni factor.
Gujarat have won five of their eight matches in Ahmedabad so far. It is certain that they have loved playing at their home venue. Batter Shubman Gill’s love affair with his stadium is not hidden. He scored his maiden IPL century earlier this season here, whereas his first T20I century had also come at the very same venue.
Narendra Modi Stadium GT Record
Out of five victories for Gujarat in Ahmedabad this season, three of them have come while defending a target and they have successfully chased a couple of times. The average first innings score for Gujarat has been 201 runs, whereas the average second innings score has been 147 runs. The idea of batting first and posting a big total has worked for teams in this city.
Gill has been their most successful batter. In eight innings, he has managed to score 449 runs at a whopping average of 74.83 and a strike rate has been 152.72. He has smashed one century and three half-centuries. 31.12% of teams’ runs at this venue have been scored by the opener only. Captain Hardik Pandya (175) and batter David Miller (154) follow Gill in the list of top-scorers.
Pacer Mohammed Shami has been the side’s leading bowler. He has scalped 16 wickets in eight matches at an economy and strike rate of 6.31 and 12 respectively. Spinner Rashid Khan is at the second spot with 12 wickets. Pacer Mohit Sharma also has scalped 12 wickets.

Tosses Won By Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad
Interestingly, Gujarat have lost six of their eight tosses but they have managed to win four of those games. In IPL 2022 final, Rajasthan Royals won the toss but the title was won by the Titans. The coin has flipped in favour of the home side just a couple of times in IPL 2023.
The coin toss may play a big part in the Qualifier 2 as Mumbai love chasing targets. With the kind of batters MI possess, GT would not want to chase a big total in a knockout match.
