India and Delhi Capitals batter Prithvi Shaw is apparently a huge devotee of the much revered Indian saint Sai Baba. The 23-year-old often expresses his faith in the spiritual master, who is also considered to be a saint by the millions of his followers/devotees across the world.

Shaw has always been noted putting up pictures or motivational quotes of Sai Baba via his social media handles, especially during the times he perhaps feels the need for some divine intervention to help him handle the lows of his life.
The right-handed batter has not gone through the best of times either, both with respect to his personal and professional life. While he has been felt hard done by after being handed selection snubs in the Indian national team of late, his inadvertent involvement in needless personal life controversies have not done him any good as well.
Prithvi Shaw Sai Baba Story
Shaw’s association with Sai Baba had become part of discussions after he was not selected in the Indian squad for the tour of New Zealand and Bangladesh last year.
Having come up with impressive performances during the 2022-23 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Shaw had made a strong case for his comeback into the Indian white-ball squads.
Soon after being ignored for the umpteenth time, he had taken to his Instagram handle to post a picture of Sai Baba. The caption to the picture had read, “Hope you are watching everything Sai Baba.”

Earlier, in June 2022 as well, he had shared a Sai Baba motivational quote after his name did not feature in the 17-member squad for India’s tour of Ireland. Yet again, it was a picture of the revered saint bearing the quote, “Don’t give up, your miracle is on the way.”
The Mumbai batter even has the picture of Sai Baba as the display picture of his Instagram handle.
An ordinary IPL 2023 as well
Shaw has had an ordinary outing in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 as well, having managed to score mere 101 runs across seven innings.
Averaging a paltry 14.42, he was provided with six straight opportunities right at the top of the Capitals’ batting line-up. However, with repeated failures, he was dropped from the side for the next six matches.
