"Rohit Has An Edge Over Kohli Because...": Gautam Gautam Once Revealed Why Rohit Sharma is a Better White Ball Cricketer Than Virat Kohli

Former Indian batter Gautam Gambhir is popular for sharing his frank and honest opinions. Talking to eminent journalist Vikrant Gupta on Sports Tak, Gambhir once revealed why current Indian captain Rohit Sharma is a better player than his predecessor Virat Kohli in ODIs and T20Is. The southpaw said that the impact with which Sharma scores runs makes him the best white-ball cricketer in the world.

Gambhir had insisted that Sharma is one of those players who does not get satisfied after hitting a century. He is someone who will carry on and make a big score to ensure a victory for his side. Gambhir had praised Kohli as well in the interview but said that fans don’t expect a double century from him as they do from Sharma.

Gambhir has always been an admirer of Sharma. He once even took a dig at Kohli and rated Sharma and legendary captain MS Dhoni as better captains than him. He called Sharma as the only player who gave him sleepless nights as a captain in the Indian Premier League.

In the interview, Gambhir had said that it is very difficult to compare both of them as they are amongst the world’s best. Readers must note that Sharma has scored three double-hundreds in ODIs, whereas, Kohli is still waiting for his first.

“For me, white-ball cricket is all about impact. [Virat] Kohli will end up getting many more runs than Rohit [Sharma], and Kohli is among the greatest right now but Rohit has an edge over Kohli because of the impact he has,” Gambhir told Sports Tak.

“Rohit is the only player to have hit three ODI double hundreds, ICC World Cup hundreds [in one edition] and he is also the only player, who once gets past 100-run mark, fans say that he missed a double century.”
