Rohit Sharma Record at MA Chidambaram Stadium: How Many Runs has Mumbai Indians' Captain Scored at Chepauk?

Mumbai Indians will face Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator match of Indian Premier League 2023. Mumbai’s captain Rohit Sharma has struggled in the tournament with the bat, but he scored an impressive half-century in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Sharma has scored 313 runs this season at an average of 22.35. He has slammed two half-centuries so far but has got out on a duck on a couple of occasions as well. As a captain, he has been impressive, as usual, and despite a weaker bowling lineup.

Batting in Chennai has never been that easy and the pitch has gradually got slower in the last few matches. It won’t be the easiest of the surfaces for Sharma to bat considering his performances in the tournament.

Rohit Sharma Record at MA Chidambaram Stadium

Sharma has not enjoyed batting in Chennai and his stats prove the same as well. He has played a total of 14 IPL matches here, where he has scored 353 runs at an average of 27.15. Sharma has scored a couple of half-centuries but his strike rate has been just 124.30.

Even in ODIs, he has scored just 140 runs in seven matches at an average of 23.33. That said, he played a 161-run knock in a Test match. It is safe to say that the white-ball record of Sharma is not great in the city and he will have to improve in order to help his side in the Eliminator match.

Rohit Sharma Record in IPL Playoffs

Sharma is the most successful IPL captain but he has not been impressive with the bat in playoff matches. In 19 matches, he has scored 297 runs at an average and strike rate of 16.50 and 18.79 respectively.

As a captain, Sharma has won 10 out of 13 playoff games in the IPL. He has a winning percentage of 76.92% and this record is quite impressive.
