Sanju Samson catch vs KKR: Rajasthan Royals player grabs excellent take to dismiss Pat Cummins in IPL 2020

Sanju Samson catch vs KKR: The in-form batsman of Rajasthan Royals put on display a commendable fielding effort in Dubai.

During the 12th match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in Dubai, Rajasthan Royals player Sanju Samson put on display a commendable fielding effort to dismiss Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler Pat Cummins.

It all happened on the last delivery of the 18th over when Cummins’ attempt to pull a delivery from Rajasthan’s Tom Curran saw him top-edging the delivery towards the fine-leg region.

Samson, who was fielding at deep square leg, began to run towards his right only to find himself in an unusual position. However, the 25-year old player keeping his eyes on the ball saved him as he eventually grabbed an excellent catch while falling down.

Samson, whose head hit the ground in the attempt, immediately received some medical attention. Having said that, there doesn’t remain any injury-related concern for Royals.

Coming in to bat at No. 7 in the 15th over, Cummins ended up scoring 12 (10) with the help of one four. Curran, on the other hand, registered bowling figures of 4-0-37-1.

After Rajasthan captain Steven Smith won the toss and chose to field, Kolkata scored a competitive 174/6 in 20 overs. While opening batsman Shubman Gill (47) top-scored for them for the second time in a row, Eoin Morgan (34*) provided them the boost in the business end.

Royals spearhead Jofra Archer (4-0-18-2) consistently bowled in the vicinity of 150 kmph to restrict the opposition batsmen throughout the innings. Apart from the English pair of Archer and Curran, Rahul Tewatia, Jaydev Unadkat and Ankit Rajpoot picked a wicket each.
