"Send Shane Watson to Bat?": Harbhajan Singh Hilariously Criticizes Delhi Capitals' Batting Performance vs SRH

Despite trying out different players in their batting line-up in almost every other match so far this season, the Delhi Capitals have had very little success, with the middle-order in particular coming up with dismal performances on a consistent basis.

Opting to bat first in the ongoing contest versus the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, DC skipper David Warner took the field with another couple of changes in his team’s batting line-up, which also included the decision to drop his out-of-form fellow opener Prithvi Shaw.

Having lost his new opening partner Phit Salt (0) on a Golden Duck, and then Mitchell Marsh as well – after hitting a few boundaries in the Powerplay, DC were yet again not off to an ideal start.

Just when it looked like they were in with a crucial partnership, SRH off-spinner Washington Sundar, who had not picked up even a single wicket until tonight this season, dismissed Warner (21), Sarfaraz Khan (10), and Aman Hakim Khan (4) during the eighth Over to push them off the tracks.

Resultantly, the entire DC camp yet again found itself enveloped in an air of gloom, with the likes of Ricky Ponting (head coach), Sourav Ganguly (Director of Cricket), and Shane Watson (Assistant coach), staring at the field in disbelief.

Former team India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who is presently part of the Star Sports Network commentary panel in IPL 2023, took to his social media handle to come up with a hilarious advise for the DC think-tank.

He seemed to ask his Twitter followers on their views to his recommendation of sending their assistant coach Watson to bat for them, in order to come up with an answer to their batting woes.

His followers too, not only replied in the affirmative, but one of them even opined that considering Watson’s form in Legends League Cricket it would not be a bad option. A majority of other users even suggested that not only Watson, but Ganguly and Ponting too should pad up and take the onus for the team’s batting performance.

Axar, Manish take DC past 140

A crucial 69-run stand off 59 deliveries for the sixth wicket between Axar Patel (34) and Manish Pandey (34) as part of the innings damage control, managed to take the Capitals’ scorecard to a respectable total of 144/9 in their 20 Overs.
