Shaheen got injured earlier this year, and he was forced to miss the Asia Cup 2022 as well in UAE. He made his return in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in the blockbuster match against India. Shaheen was struggling in the initial matches, but he was at his best in the latter half of the tournament. Although, he again got injured in the final of the tournament.
Shaheen was recently seen in the draft of Pakistan Super League 2023, where he is the captain of Lahore Qalandars. The Qalandars won the tournament last season under the captaincy of Shaheen, and they would want to continue the same.

Shaheen Afridi is now directly related to Shahid Afridi, as the left-arm pacer is engaged to Shahid’s daughter Ansha Afridi. Earlier this year, both families confirmed the engagement of Shaheen and Ansha. Both of them are set to get married as well, and a date has emerged for their marriage.
According to The Dawn, Shaheen and Ansha will have their nikah ceremony on 3rd February next year, all the other events will take place later on. Shaheen will be leading the Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2023, and the nikah ceremony will take place prior to the tournament. He will directly join the Qalandars’ camp after his nikah.

It is certain that this marriage will carry a lot of headlines as two big names in Pakistan cricket are involved. UPDATE: Shaheen Afridi’s Nikah ceremony took place on February 3 (Friday), and with him being married to Ansha Afridi, he is now officially the son-in-law of Shahid Afridi.
