Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav: Reserve Indian players' viral video from Chennai Test confuses fans

Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav: A video of two reserve Indian cricketers has gone viral across social media platforms today.

During the third day of the first Test of the ongoing England’s tour of India in Chennai, India have finally managed to dismiss the visitors in their first innings.

In what was a rare case scenario on Indian pitches, England batted for over 190 overs after captain Joe Root won the toss and chose to bat. Root, who had talked about scoring in the range of 600-700 after scoring a century on Day 1, would be more than contended with England ending with 578 in their first innings on the tour.

Leading from the front, Root scored a phenomenal 218 (377) with the help of 19 fours and two sixes and was well accompanied by opening batsman Dom Sibley (87) and vice-captain Ben Stokes (82).

In the first session on Day 3, India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and spinner Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Dom Bess (34) and James Anderson (1) respectively to dismiss the remaining two English batsmen. It is worth mentioning that both Bumrah and Ashwin were the pick of the Indian bowlers with three wickets each to their names.

The third morning of the Test match also witnessed a couple of reserve Indian bowlers in Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav gaining limelight across social media platforms.

A video which has now went viral sees Siraj grabbing Yadav by his neck while telling something to him in an aggressive manner. The video has invited speculations of a rift between the two players according to fans on social media.

Having said that, it seems to be more of a case of the two players having fun with each other. The same getting recorded in a five-second video doesn’t provide any context at all.

Siraj, who was India’s highest wicket-taker during the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, wasn’t included in the Playing XI for this match after the return of seasoned campaigners in Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

Yadav, on the other hand, has been traveling as a third-spin bowling option with the Indian team for two years now. The chinaman spinner not getting a spot in the Playing XI for this match has invited severe criticism of the current team management.
