STR vs REN pitch report today BBL match: Adelaide Oval pitch batting or bowling for T20

The Adelaide Strikers will take on the Melbourne Renegades in the 36th match of the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2022-23, at the Adelaide Oval today (Tuesday).

After losing four matches on a trot, the Strikers finally managed to get a win under their belt in the most emphatic manner during their pervious match against the Hobart Hurricanes. In what turned out to be their most cherishable victory till date last Thursday, they registered the highest-ever BBL run-chase (230 runs), courtesy of a brilliant century off the bat of Matthew Short.

The Renegades too, notched-up a victory during their previous match against the Hurricanes, and are currently placed at the third spot in the points table with 5 wins (10 points) under their belt.

The Strikers have so far won three of their four matches at the Adelaide Oval this season, and would look to carry on with their good record at home, and replace Renegades with a win at the third spot in the table today.

Regarded as one of the best tracks in Australia for the batters, the Adelaide Oval pitch stayed true to its reputation last Thursday when over 450 collective runs were scored by the two teams during the aforementioned record-shattering match between the Strikers and Hurricanes.

The average score across the four matches that have been played so far this season stands at 182.2 runs.

In the bowling department, with the pitch staying true to its bounce, the seamers are again likely to get purchase by the hitting the deck hard with the new ball. The key yet again would be to bowl full considering the shorter square boundaries.

All in all, with the two in-form batting line-ups, expect yet another run-fest at the venue today.
