STR vs STA pitch report today BBL match: Adelaide Oval pitch report for T20 batting or bowling

Adelaide Strikers will take on Melbourne Stars in the 23rd league match of the Big Bash League at the Adelaide Oval in Oval. The track at Adelaide is always a good one for a T20 match, and the same can be expected in this match as well.

The Strikers have lost their last couple of matches, and they would want to end their streak at their home venue. It is safe to say that bowling is the strength of this side with the likes of Rashid Khan, Henry Thornton, Peter Siddle, etc. They have some star batters as well, but they are not in a great rhythm.

Melbourne Stars are certainly struggling, and batting is the biggest weakness of this side. Apart from Joe Clarke, every other batter of the side has struggled to impress. The form of Marcus Stoinis is the biggest worry of this side.

The Adelaide Oval in Adelaide is one of the best tracks to bat in Australia, and the same can be expected in this match as well. This is a flat track with an even amount of bounce which will help the batters in playing their shots. The outfield is also very fast, and if placed in the gap, the ball will race away toward the boundary.

A couple of BBL 12 matches have been played here so far, and the pitch has been a fairly decent one for batting. The pacers can get some movement in the initial overs of the match. In the recent T20 World Cup, 7 matches were played here with an average 1st innings score of 158 runs. It is safe to say that the numbers do not justify the nature of the wicket.

A fresh track is expected in this match, and it should be good for batting. The square boundaries of this stadium are very small, and the batters will definitely target that area of the ground. Both captains may chase upon winning the toss here.
