Travis Head run-out: Watch Adelaide Strikers captain's peculiar dismissal vs Sydney Thunder in BBL 2020-21

Travis Head run-out: The captain of Adelaide Strikers was the second batsman to get out in that manner at the Adelaide Oval today.

During the 51st match of the ongoing 10th season of the Big Bash League between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers in Adelaide, Adelaide Strikers captain Travis Head became victim of an unfortunate dismissal.

It all happened on the first delivery of the last over when Strikers pacer Michael Neser smashed an Adam Milne slower delivery down the ground.

In what was a daunting chance of grabbing a caught and bowled, Milne went for the catch but the speed with which the ball was hit seemed too much to stop from such a close distance.

Having said that, Milne did enough to deflect the ball to the stumps at the non-striker’s end. With Head keen to return back to the strike, he was way outside the crease backing up that there was nothing much he could do to get back.

After Strikers opening batsman Jake Weatherald (31) registering a similar dismissal earlier in the innings, the Strikers’ batsmen put on display a rare-case scenario of two batsmen falling in the same unusual manner.

Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 10th over, Head played well for 31 (24) which comprised of three fours but the same wasn’t enough for Strikers to post a dominating total.

Milne, who opened the bowling for Thunder, picked awe-inspiring bowling figures of 4-0-6-1, playing a pivotal role in restricting the home team to 159/6 in 20 overs.
