The much anticipated clash between the four-time IPL champions – Chennai Super Kings, and five-time winners Mumbai Indians is upon us, as the two most popular sides of the cash-rich league will lock horns tomorrow at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Although both the teams have not got off to the best of starts in the ongoing 16th season, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma will for sure have the eyeballs of the Cricketing fraternity at them during the marquee clash tomorrow night.
MI do boast of a power-packed batting line-up without an iota of doubt, but their top Indian batters in skipper Rohit, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav have not been amongst the runs of-late. However, in a line-up which also comprises the likes of Tilak Varma, Cameron Green, and Tim David, it might well be just a matter of time before the side really comes into its groove.
CSK, on the other hand have a death-bowling headache. With Deepak Chahar far from being back with his old rhythm post injury, the likes of Tushar Deshpande and Rajvardhan Hangargekar have been a tad too undisciplined so far.
Wankhede Stadium Mumbai Pitch Report for MI vs CSK
The pitch at the Wankhede Stadium in known to assist the pacers especially with the new ball, as it offers decent pace and carry, coupled with noteworthy swing.
During the ODI match between India and Australia at this venue most recently in March, pacers scalped 12 of the 15 wickets at this venue, with the likes of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Mitchell Starc having their day out.
Having said that, it is the batters who are likely to wear a smile throughout the contest tomorrow night, as the pitch will most probably largely be flat, with a high-scoring contest definitely up on the cards.
The average score across the 21 matches played during IPL 2022 at this venue was 170 runs.
Notable absentees/inclusions for CSK and MI tomorrow
MI might as well stick with their playing XI from the previous match. It remains to be seen whether or not Riley Meredith is available for selection tomorrow, after being signed as the replacement player for the injured Jhye Richardson.
South African bowling allrounder Sisanda Magala has joined the CSK camp, and is known for his death bowling skills. It is however, highly unlikely he’ll be slotted in straightaway especially after Mitchell Santner impressed with the ball the previous match.
