Weather in Melbourne today for AUS vs IND Test: What is the weather prediction for Australia vs India MCG Test?

Weather in Melbourne today: The SportsRush presents for you the detailed weather prediction for the second AUS vs IND Test.

The ongoing second Test match between Australia and India in Melbourne continues to hang in balance with both sides seeming to do their best to register a victory in the Boxing Day Test.

India, who trail by just over 50 runs now, have a slight advantage especially with six wickets in hand. Provided they don’t register another batting collapse, India should be able to build some lead in the first innings.

At this point in time, India captain Ajinkya Rahane and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant have both got off to starts and would be wanting to convert them into substantial innings.

Australia, who had dismissed Mayank Agarwal (0) yesterday, sent back the likes of Shubman Gill (45), Cheteshwar Pujara (17) and Hanuma Vihari (21). While vice-captain Pat Cummins picked a couple of wickets in the first session, spinner Nathan Lyon dismissed Vihari in the second one.

Weather in Melbourne today

The Indian fans would be considering themselves a tad unlucky for India bowled on a sunny day and are currently batting on an overcast day. In what has been the weather since morning, the visiting batsmen have had to counter the Australian bowling attack amidst a proper cloud cover.

As far as rain is concerned, it hasn’t poured a bit since morning despite the cloud cover. Having said that, there’s a 61% probability of rain around 17:00 hours (AEST).

In terms of the day’s play, the same means that it might just rain a bit towards the last half an hour or so of the third session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground today. Other than that, the rain shouldn’t be a threat for this Test either today or tomorrow.
