The Australian team is currently playing a pink ball test against West Indies at the Adelaide Oval. Mitchell Starc is leading Australia’s pace attack in the absence of Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood. It is to be noted that Starc is the highest wicket-taker in the history of day-night tests.

It is safe to say that Starc is one of the most lethal pacers in the circuit. He has proved his class in all the formats and is still going strong. Starc is one of those rare names who has skipped IPL seasons in order to stay focused and fit for the international matches.
The left-arm pacer has grabbed 291 test wickets at 27.73, whereas he also has 211 ODI wickets under his belt. Starc scalped 22 wickets in Australia’s successful World Cup campaign in 2015, and he was named the player of the tournament.
Mitchell Starc was fined $5500 for angrily throwing the ball
Mitchell Starc is known for his aggressive intent. He had a famous fight with Kieron Pollard during the IPL as well in the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. Starc was once fined for his actions on the field in a test match between Australia and New Zealand.
The incident happened during the final innings of the 1st test between both sides at the Gabba in 2015. Australia easily won that match by 208 runs in the end, but the duo of Trent Boult and Mark Craig added 46 runs for the last wicket in the final innings which frustrated the Australians.

At one stage, Mark Craig smashed Starc for three consecutive boundaries, and that angered Starc. On one of his next balls, Starc threw the ball in frustration towards Craig, and the ball raced away towards the boundary as overthrow runs for New Zealand. He was fined $5,500 for the same by match referee Roshan Mahanama.
Captain Steve Smith was also not impressed with Starc’s attitude, and he said that he will have a talk with the pacer regarding the incident. Although, he insisted that Starc does not need to apologize for the same.
“I thought it was pretty disappointing. He’s done it a few times and I’m going to have a word with him when I get back down to the sheds,” Smith told reporters.
“I don’t think it was necessary at the time and hopefully he can improve and get better from that.”
