Sydney Showground Stadium in Sydney in hosting the 39th league match of the BBL 12 between Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers. The Scorchers won the toss and opted to bowl on a track that has been brilliant for the pacers so far this season.

Sydney Thunder lost their last game, and they will be eager to make a comeback. The likes of Oliver Davies, Alex Ross, etc have impressed with the bat, whereas the bowlers have also done a great job. They would want to take advantage of their home support.

Perth Scorchers are the table toppers, and they are looking in sublime touch. The pacers are the strength of this side, and they will love bowling here in Sydney. England’s David Payne is making his debut for the Scorchers. The batters of the side have also been great so far.

Why is Alex Hales not playing today’s BBL 12 match

Sydney Thunder have made a solitary change to their playing eleven from the last match where Alex Hales has been replaced by David Warner at the top. Hales has been the premier batter of the Sydney Thunder for the last few seasons, and he was their best batter in BBL 12 as well.

However, the readers must note that Hales will not play any further part in the tournament as he will be playing for the Desert Vipers in ILT20 League in UAE. Hales just signed a short contract this time around, and he recently said that it’s weird to leave the BBL in between, but he had no other options.

Warner is back in the team, and it is safe to say that Sydney Thunder have got an able replacement for Hales. The left-arm batter is back playing BBL after 9 long years, and it is safe to say that he is one of the best players in this format.
