"Would Have Been Very Boring": MS Dhoni Once Revealed Why He Didn't Act In His Biopic

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput was near flawless while playing the character of legendary Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his biographical sports drama film titled ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ (2016). But, wouldn’t it have been better if the man himself had acted in the movie?

Opining on this very idea, Dhoni had once remarked how difficult it is to act and help the audience empathize with the life story of the character(s) involved.

Be it the way Dhoni used to tighten his batting gloves before facing a delivery, or the way he used to rub his thumb underneath his eye while batting, or simply nailing the Bihari accent in which he used to interact with his friends and family in Ranchi, Sushant had imitated the ‘Captain Cool’ like an extremely talented actor would have.

MS Dhoni Once Revealed Why He Didn’t Act In His Biopic

During an event a few years ago, Dhoni was asked whether there was any specific reason as to why he did not act in his own movie.

Answering the same, the once-in-a-lifetime batter had stated that he would have remained poker-faced during most parts of the movie. Admitting how he hardly expresses his feelings on the field of play or otherwise, Dhoni simply implied he does not have the skills to make people connect with him and his journey portrayed in his biopic.

“Acting is a difficult job. To make people cry because of how you are acting on-screen, to make people laugh, to make people feel what exactly you’re going through….and imagine I’m acting in my movie, most of the times the expressions would be like … [goes poker-faced]. A lot of things are going inside, but it doesn’t come out. So, I think it would have been very boring.”
