2017 was a monumental year for team India, as the Virat Kohli led side dominated every team that came to it’s shores.
While the victories over Sri Lanka and Bangladesh can be brushed aside as easy wins, India also dismantled England, Australia and New Zealand, thereby showing their complete dominance in all formats of the game.
Now Kohli and his men will turn their attention abroad, as they will tour the likes of South Africa, England and Australia in 2018.
After many years, team India have finally found a balanced bowling, that has both variety and experience in it’s ranks. The spin duo of Ashwin and Jadeja are complemented by a power packed pace battery, something that has rarely been seen before in Indian cricket.
Kohli realizes that this team is on the cusp of something special, as they will look to kick start the year by performing well in South Africa. No Indian team has ever won a series in the rainbow nation, which is why this series is eagerly anticipated by the cricketing world.
2017 has been a special year for Kohli in particular, as he continued his growth and firmly established himself as the premier batsman in world cricket. Off the field, Kohli got married to long time partner Anushka Sharma.
Kohli was not the only cricketer to get hitched this year, as pace bowler Bhuvneshwar also tied the knot a few weeks back. Cricket South Africa also realizes that there are a couple of newlyweds this time, which is why they are planning something special for them.
“We are very happy to host the couple. India and South Africa have always shared special relationship. The year 2018 will serve as a testimony to the ties between the two countries. We haven’t received any special requests from the newlyweds, but we will strive to make their stay a special one.”
