Cristiano Ronaldo says that his old club Real Madrid have made the right appointment by bringing Zinedine Zidane back to the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane left Real Madrid following the historic Champions League triumph at Kyiv last May. The 34-year-old moved to Juventus for a fee of 100 million euros, whereas, the Frenchman rejected plenty of approaches from various clubs because he needed a sabbatical.

Florentino Perez’s decision to appoint Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari did not work out as the club was knocked out of the Champions League by a young Ajax side which comprised of future stars and the Los Blancos are not even in the frame of beating Barcelona for the league title.

Due to the ongoing problems, the club did not hesitate to bring their manager Zinedine Zidane back to Santiago Bernabeu. Results have been gradually picked up, winning two out of two in the La Liga, but he is keen to bring in fresh faces to the club to the capital city of Spain.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who lifted the Champions League thrice under Zidane said that the current Los Blancos manager suits the club more than any other manager.

“I think Zidane knows how to handle the team in an intelligent way,” said Ronaldo, speaking in a documentary to be broadcast on Wednesday called ‘Zidane, Realement Madrid’ that RMC Sport 1 .

“It’s not an easy situation because all the players like to play a lot. But he knows how to work intelligently and he manages to involve all the team.”

The results might have been kinder for the Spanish outfit, but the squad needs an upgradation after the departure of their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo. Three players who are said to be leading the shortlist are believed to be Paul Pogba, Eden Hazard, and Kylian Mbappe for the club.

Besides, these two players there were reports quoting that the club are working on Adrien Rabiot to bring him to Santiago Bernabeu as his contract expires after the conclusion of this season. It will be an interesting summer ahead for the Los Blancos, and Zidane said that the goalkeeping conundrum will be solved before the kick start of the next season.

The Spain international, hails the Frenchman as “unique” and similarly praises his ability to coax the best from his players.

“Zidane’s career speaks for itself, both what he did as a player and what he does as a coach. He found a way to transfer the talent he had as a player to his role as coach and manage a dressing room. He does a fantastic and unique job, and the results are not a coincidence.” said Ramos.
