Adrien Rabiot is set to join Real Madrid after turning down an offer from Juventus.

Adrien Rabiot turned down a contract extension from Paris Saint Germain and has not kicked the ball since the start of September. The French outfit coach Thomas Tuchel tried to convince him to stay at Parc Des Princes as the midfielder was seen as club’s captain, but the 23-year-old blocked any sorts of negotiations with his current club.

After his constant refusal to renew his contract, the club board opted to keep him away from first-team duties until he puts pen to paper which looks extremely unlikely currently. Soon to be 24, Rabiot has made 227 appearances for the club, scoring 24 and assisting another 17 after breaking into the first team as an academy youngster.

There were several rumours quoting that the French International was supposed to join Barcelona as a free agent in the summer, but the Blaugrana decided to opt out following the hefty demands from the player. It is understood that Rabiot is seeking an annual wage of 10 million euros.

The Los Blancos have decided to take advantage of that situation and are set to land him in the summer window as a free agent. Despite interest from the Italian outfit Juventus, Adrien Rabiot has set his heart on Real Madrid, according to the French outlet Le Parisien.

His addition would be a welcome one for the Los Blancos are they are set to ship off Matteo Kovacic who has been underwhelming at Chelsea. The Croatian International joined Maurizio Sarri’s side but has failed to impress. This means that current Zinedine Zidane does not fancy him because the former Inter Milan midfielder has never fulfiled his potential after moving from Italy in 2015.

Should Rabiot sign for the reigning Champions League winners, he could opt as the backup for Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. Zinedine Zidane is also planning to buy Paul Pogba from Manchester United and spoke about his admiration for the player and vice versa.

Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and AC Milan are the other clubs to register interest on the midfielder, but he looks likely to join Real Madrid as per the French media. It is unlikely to see any club matching his demands unless it is split between the normal fee and add on fee.
