Cristiano Ronaldo opens up on Maurizio Sarri subbing him in his last 2 appearance for Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo opens up on Maurizio Sarri subbing him in his last 2 appearance for Juventus. The Portuguese confirmed that he has been carrying an injury.

Cristiano Ronald has had an extremely erratic last few days. While he has been fantastic for his national team, scoring 4 goals in 2 matches this week alone and 14 all through the year, he has been below par for Juventus and has even failed to last the whole 90 minutes two time consecutively now.

He was first substituted against Lokomotiv Moscow in the Champions League. Cristiano Ronaldo was seen celebrating Juventus’ last gasp win. However, when he was taken off in the 55th minute against AC Milan in their next match, Ronaldo seemed far from pleased.

It was even reported that Ronaldo had left the stadium before the match had even ended. This gave birth to speculations that perhaps all was not well in the Juventus camp. Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to give his take on the matter and bring clarity to the situation.

Speaking to A Bola after Portugal’s 2-0 win over Luxembourg, he said:

‘In the last three weeks I have been playing with limitations. ‘Everyone knows that I don’t like to be substituted, but there was no problem in my gestures after the change. I tried to help Juventus by playing injured.

‘Nobody likes to be replaced, but I understood it, because I wasn’t in such good shape.’

Ronaldo admitted that he has been playing for Portugal while carrying an injury as well and still hasn’t healed despite putting up a great performance in his 2 matches with the European Champions.

‘I sacrificed myself for the team. We could have missed out [on Euro 2020]. Thankfully, I haven’t been injured much in my career but it can happen. ‘It’s a pain that prevents me from being 100%, but I always try to play. They created a big controversy where it didn’t need to exist. I’ll be back to 100% soon.’
