Cristiano Ronaldo rape allegations: A second woman has come out and alleged Cristiano Ronaldo of sexual assault.
Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of rape by a 33-year old US woman, Kathryn Mayorga. She has alleged that Ronaldo raped her in a hotel in Las Vegas in 2009.
The attorney of Kathryn Mayorga has now revealed that a second woman has contacted him and made the same claims about Cristiano Ronaldo.
English media outlet Mail reports that Leslie Stovall, the attorney of Mayorga has given the details about the claim made by the second woman to the Las Vegas police authorities. He has, however, declined to name the woman.
“I have had a call from a woman who claims to have had a similar experience,” said Stovall, as quoted by Mail.
The Las Vegas police department, meanwhile, has reopened investigations following Kathryn Mayorga’s accusations. Mayorga filed a lawsuit against Cristiano Ronaldo on September 27, with 11 claims which include battery, abuse of a vulnerable person and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays for Juventus, and has previously played for Real Madrid, Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon.
Ronaldo denies charges:
The Portuguese footballer has denied the charges of sexual abuse. He took to his social media accounts to deny the allegations of rape made by Kathryn Mayorga. Ronaldo stated that rape is an ‘abominable crime’ and goes against everything he believes in.
I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me. Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in. Keen as I may be to clear my name, I refuse to feed the media spectacle created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense.

My clear conscious will thereby allow me to await with tranquillity the results of any and all investigations.

However, his statement has little impact on his sponsors, who are increasingly worried about their association with Ronaldo. “We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation,” said Nike, who has a $1bn contract with the Juventus forward.
Gaming giants EA have reportedly removed Cristiano Ronaldo’s image from their promotional posters.
The allegations have also impacted his national duties with Portugal. The forward has not been included in Portuguese national side as they take on Poland and Scotland in the international break this week.
Juventus, however, have defended Cristiano Ronaldo for now. They posted a statement in support of Ronaldo on October 4, which has attracted significant criticism from people on social media.

The events allegedly dating back to almost 10 years ago do not change this opinion, which is shared by anyone who has come into contact with this great champion. 2/2

Ronaldo continues to play for Juventus, and scored a goal during their 2-0 win over Udinese in Serie A last weekend.
