CSK vs DC Preview

CSK vs DC Preview: The Sportsrush presents before you full preview of the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2019 between Super Kings and Capitals.

The final qualifier and the second last match of this IPL is here and we can’t wait to know the second finalist of IPL 2019. Delhi Capitals made a great comeback in the final stages of their Eliminator to set up a clash with the Chennai Super Kings, who were outplayed by the Mumbai Indians for the third time this season.

Delhi, on the other hand, are playing an a qualifier after seven years and the inexperience in the team might be a cause of concern. However, Delhi Capitals have played a game at Visakhapatnam unlike CSK and will be aware of the conditions better. Expect a battle of equals here.

FORM GUIDE

Chennai Super Kings have lost 4 of their last 6 matches and it seems that the law of averages is catching up with them after they got off to a flyer in the first few matches this season. Their batting looks a tad weak currently especially after Kedar Jadhav’s injury.

Dhoni and Raina, along with Faf du Plessis will have to step up. The bowling attack looks good and since the Vizag pitch has shown signs of turn, the CSK spinners will be eager to make a mark.

Delhi Capitals are carrying a much better momentum with 5 wins off their last 6 matches. The interesting part is that the only loss in the last 6 games came against CSK.

DC will be wary of the Super Kings who will be hurting after a big loss. The Capitals’ batting order looks strong with the Indian core contributing this season consistently. The bowling attack looks a bit weak after Rabada’s departure but the old Indian war horses, Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra, have stepped up and managed to rise to the occasion.

TEAM CHANGES

CSK will not make too many changes. The only factor they may look at is playing only 5 bowlers against a quality batting line-up like the DC. They might be tempted to bring in Shardul Thakur for Murali Vijay who will be very unlucky if he misses out considering he provided some stability to the CSK batting at No. 4 in the last match.

Delhi Capitals should not tinker will the team combination too much. Trent Boult might not make it to the playing XI in this match since he has proven to be expensive time and again. He has an economy rate of 9.53 and has only got 4 wickets to show for his efforts in 4 matches.

The Vizag pitch was gripping and assisting spinners yesterday. Hence, young Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichchane should take Boult’s place in the team.

PITCH AND WEATHER PREDICTION

The Vizag pitch seems to be assisting the spinners a lot. Both teams should look to use their spinners to control the direction of the game. It is not very easy to score runs and we saw 160 almost being defended last night. Anything over 170 should be above par tomorrow.

The temperature will remain around 30-31°C throughout the match. There is expected to be a significant cloud cover during the game thereby reducing the chances of dew on the outfield. With a humidity level of 70%, it should be just another day at the IPL for both the teams. There is a small 10% chance of rain playing spoilsport.

TOSS PREDICTION

The team winning the toss might look to bowl first and chase later. It is a high pressure match with a lot at stake. Knowing the target will surely be helpful to the batsmen.
