CSK Predicted Playing 11 for today's match vs KXIP

CSK Predicted Playing 11 for today’s match vs KXIP: The Sportsrush presents before you CSK’s Predicted Playing 11 for their fifth match of IPL 2019.

The Chennai Super Kings, after a great start with 3 back to back wins, were brought back to the ground comprehensively by the Nita Ambani owned Mumbai Indians who defeated them by 37 runs.

As admitted by MS Dhoni himself, death bowling is an area where CSK need to stem the runs. Also, proper pacing of the chase is extremely crucial. With Ngidi and Willey both not playing in this IPL and Dwayne Bravo having a hamstring injury, the road ahead for CSK will be tough.

For a team which does not look towards making too many changes, a change in combination can affect the team quite a lot. The good thing for them is that their next match will be at the Chepauk amidst the yellow
brigade’s support.

CSK Predicted Playing 11 for today’s match vs KXIP

Top-order

CSK’s opening combination of Watson and Rayudu have failed to fire as they would have liked to. While Watson has been unlucky to be dismissed through some great catches, Rayudu has looked completely out of sorts in the middle failing to time the ball at all.

Watson might get a longer rope and a few more opportunities but Rayudu would probably face the axe. South African skipper Faf du Plessis might finally get a game after warming the bench for a long time.

Suresh Raina would look to perform like he does in the IPL and provide some stability to the batting order. He would be itching to make a big impact.

Middle-order

CSK need to have a solid middle order if they want to be a threat. Kedar Jadhav scored a well-deserved 58 and showed massive patience and perseverance in the face of adversity. He would look to continue contributing to the team at No. 4. MS Dhoni will follow Jadhav and play a crucial role in the middle order.

Despite going for plenty in the slog over against Mumbai Indians, veteran all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is likely to feature in the Playing XI against KXIP. Both him and Ravindra Jadeja will complete the middle order and contribute bits and pieces with the bat.

Bowlers

The CSK bowlers have been magnificent in most of the matches apart from the death overs in the previous match against MI. The spinners will once again play a defining role considering the nature of the pitch at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Imran Tahir will surely play an important role being the biggest impact spinner in the team. Deepak Chahar and Mohit Sharma would maintain their spot in the team on the back of decent performances. Shardul Thakur might miss out as CSK would look to play an extra spinner in the form of Harbhajan Singh. What goes in favour of Mohit over Shardul is that Mohit can bowl well at the death.

Off-spinner Harbhajan might be useful against KXIP left-handed batsmen in Gayle and Miller. Jadeja would round up the bowling line-up. Since only 5 bowlers play in this team, we can expect Raina and Jadhav to roll over their arm.

CSK Predicted Playing 11 for today’s match vs KXIP – 1) Shane Watson 2) Faf du Plessis 3) Suresh Raina 4) Kedar Jadhav 5) Mahendra Singh Dhoni (c & wk) 6) Dwayne Bravo 7) Ravindra Jadeja 8) Harbhajan Singh 9) Deepak Chahar 10) Mohit Sharma 11) Imran Tahir
