CSK's full schedule

The IPL mega auction is done with and before the mega event commences, there was this small matter of the IPL schedule, which has now been released by the IPL organising committee.

With Star getting the rights for broadcasting the IPL this season, it was being proposed that the double headers could end up overlapping each other, with one match beginning at 5:30 pm and the other at 7:30 pm.

However, due to opposition from multiple franchises, Star, the IPL organising committee and the BCCI have dropped the idea and will not be going ahead with the ‘new proposed timings’.

The evening games will start at 8 pm and the afternoon games will start at 4 pm. Also, all the double headers will be held on weekends this time round, and the weekdays will have only evening games.

Chennai Super Kings will begin their campaign on the opening day of the IPL, facing the defending Champions at the Wankhede stadium on the 7th of April, 2018.

CSK’s home campaign starts on the 10th of April, 2018, and they will be welcoming the Kolkata Knight Riders for it.

The Chennai franchise will be playing in the heat during just 2 IPL games, one against RCB on May 5th, which is a home game and the other against SRH, which is a home game as well.

The CSK fans will be happy to note that CSK won’t be on the road for more than two games.

CSK had retained MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja in the ‘IPL Retention Special’ and in the auction have picked a very balanced side for themselves, having a good mixture of youth and experience.
