Ricciardo hints at missing Russian GP

Daniel Ricciardo’s move away from Red Bull(for the 2019 season) surprised the entire F1 fraternity, especially when he announced that his new team would be Renault.

Ever since, Ricciardo has endured a painful season, being forced to retire from a few races and then not being able to challenge for a win in the others.

Now, with the Russian GP scheduled for this weekend, Ricciardo is kind of having second thoughts about it, largely because of his favourite AFL side West Coast Eagles reaching the AFL finals 2018.

Ricciardo thus came up with a cheeky tweet, asking his fans if he should go to Melbourne for the AFL finals or stick to his schedule and go and do the job in Russia.

“Next week: Melbourne or Russia? Decisions…go you good things West Coast Eagles” Ricciardo said.

A lot of the fans want Ricciardo to skip the Russian GP, as anyway, there is not much to gain for him from the remaining 6 races.

One Daniel Ricciardo fan had a rather innovative way to tackle this dilemma, wherein he suggested to Ricciardo that he should miss qualifying on Saturday, start from the back of the grid and put up a strong show on race day.

“Dan, if your car engine is going the way of 6 races this season: fly to Melbourne for Friday night, then fly to Russia Saturday night. Start at the back of the grid, and you may have a chance of a great weekend.” the Twitter user said.

Ricciardo also made an appearance on an Australian podcast, wherein he showed his support for the West Coast Eagles while also finding time to reveal a Kimi Raikkonen-Toilet story.

How do you think Ricciardo will fare in Russia?
