For seven years, Chris Gayle ruled the IPL with RCB as the Jamaican legend changed the game and took batting to a whole new level altogether.

At his peak, Gayle was truly unstoppable, as the left hander destroyed bowlers and in some cases even ended careers.
After being injured for the entirety of the first season, Gayle had two underwhelming seasons with KKR. After now being picked in the 2011 auction, Gayle came in as a last minute replacement to RCB, and started off with a debut century against KKR of all teams.

Gayle then went on to have a couple of sensational years with RCB, as the West Indian was for a long time the best T20I batsman in the world. But Gayle slowed down in the last couple of years, as the Jamaican was no longer showing he consistency that made him such a match winner for RCB.
Unsurprisingly, Gayle was not selected in the auction by RCB, and was a last minute addition to KXIP. Daniel Vettori has recently come out and said the Bengaluru franchise will miss the great Jamaican, and hoped that he will do well with KXIP.

“It will be sad. You look at what he has done for the franchise in the time that he has been here. We recently went through our records and he dominates all of them. He has been a fantastic player for RCB and it was tough to say goodbye. But the timing was right for us. We wish him well,” Vettori told.
RCB will hope that Kohli and ABD will be able to inspire their team and finally win their maiden IPL title.
There is no doubt that Gayle will get a fabulous reception on his return to the Chinnaswamy this year. For RCB’s sake, let’s hope he does not score yet another century at his old stomping ground!
