The Delhi Capitals are behind the defending champions in the head to head count, winning 6 games out of 18. Chennai have the upper hand in this regards. However, the re-inspired Delhi Capitals boosted by a name change and the induction of Ricky Ponting in the management has possibly turned the fortunes for the capital city.
With that being said, the contest between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings is going to be more intense than the ones we have witnessed on the previous occasions. Both teams have brilliant fire-power in their squad, which will provide for an end-to-end game of cricket for the viewers.

As we move on, The Sport Rush looks at the key player battles that will be enthralling to witness at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi:
Rishabh Pant vs Imran Tahir:
The Indian wicket-keeper smashed a match-winning unbeaten 78 off 27 with an incredible strike-rate of 289. His incredible hitting against the Mumbai Indians bowlers make him a huge threat for the Chennai Super Kings bowlers.
However, he will have to face a different attack from CSK. CSK’s attack surrounds against spinners, and one of them is Imran Tahir, who picked up 3-9 against RCB. Tahir has an incredible record against the left-handers with an average of 20.7 with 23 T20 wickets against the left-handers since the start of 2018. Pant’s brilliant form and Tahir’s experience will be an encounter to watch out for.
Shane Watson vs Trent Boult:
Shane Watson did not get off to a great start in the opening game, scoring a 10-ball duck. However, his form in the PSL saw him winning the best batter of the tournament and he would want to translate this form across the border.
Trent Boult went for over 10 runs an over in the opening game against the Mumbai Indians considering the game was a run-fest. However, Boult has been phenomenal all around the world with the new ball against the right-handers. If Boult can get it to swing it early on, Watson will find it very hard to survive. However, if the Australian wins the initial battle, it will be very hard to stop him.
Suresh Raina vs Kagiso Rabada:
Suresh Raina brought up his 5000 runs in IPL history in the previous game against the RCB, that evidences his brilliant record in the league. The left-hander has always been consistent for the Yellow Army and has also racked up 398 runs against the Delhi team.
On the other hand, Kagiso Rabada took 2-23 against a strong Mumbai Indians batting line-up. His pace and accuracy might make the batsman hurry on the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch. Raina’s problem with the short-ball is known to many a people and Rabada’s extra pace will be a threat for Raina.
