Deepak Chahar back in training for CSK
Pacer Deepak Chahar, who is a part of Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season, injured himself during the game against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on 28th April.
He was ruled out of the tournament for a couple of weeks due to the hamstring injury. However, as per the reports in news.ibctamil.com, he was seen practicing at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur where CSK is scheduled to play their next game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday (11th).
This comes as a massive boost for CSK who were a little thin on fast bowling options, as Thakur hasn’t really been in great form and Mark Wood has already returned home in order to participate in county cricket.
Deepak Chahar was bought by the franchise for Rs 80 Lakh in January actions.
Dhoni has used Chahar really well, bowling all his overs up front as he is an out and out swing bowler who has been able to extract a lot of swing in the initial overs.
Since his departure, CSK have had a slight blip in their bowling department, as Bravo’s form has also seen a dip.
CSK need a win to almost confirm a playoff spot, whereas RR need to win all of their games in order to have a chance of making it to the last week of the tournament.
In the previous encounter against Rajasthan Royals (RR), CSK registered a comprehensive victory of 64 runs. This time RR must be aiming at taking a revenge for the humiliating defeat.
