Dota 2 Hero Guide: The top 5 off-lane heroes you should pick in Patch 7.28 to dominate pub games. Off-lane is one of the most underrated roles. Play these heroes in off-lane to dominate pub games in Dota 2 Patch 7.28, before they get nerfs.

In Dota 2, some roles are more important than others. However, a good combination of hero picks are what will help you win. In the different roles to master, off-lane is one of the toughest. The off-lane player is responsible for making the game hard for the enemy safe-lane hero.

Off-lane heroes are usually the tank for your team. Picking the perfect off-lane to offset the enemy team’s synergy can help you to easily close out a game, before there is any chance of a comeback.

Here are the best off-lane heroes for you to play in pubs in Dota 2 Patch 7.28. Start abusing them now, before Valve realizes to nerf them.

Best Off-lane heroes of Patch 7.28

All the heroes in this list are equally good at the off-lane role. However, we have ranked them by the difficulty of mechanics and execution in-game. These are all situational picks, so do not blindly first pick them, except for Leshrac & Beastmaster.

1. Leshrac

Leshrac is extremely good in the off-lane role, especially to counter melee carries. He does a ridiculous amount of Magic damage, making him very useful in the early game, as most carries do not have a high inbuilt magic resistance. He is also one of the best tower pushers in the game, meaning you can knock down the enemy tower in under 10 minutes, even without the assistance of your teammates. Leshrac tops the list of off-lane heroes you can abuse in Patch 7.28.

2. Beastmaster

Beastmaster is one of the most fun heroes to play, and is extremely well-suited to the off-lane role. He has 2 summons: The boar scales incredibly well, and deals poison attacks, while the hawk is very useful for scouting parts of the map. Additionally, you can also buy a Necronomicon, making it even harder to kill him as he is always surrounded by units.

He takes towers fast, and his passive helps carries hit harder. His Savage roar is a BKB piercing stun, making it one of the best single-unit disables in the game.

3. Dark Seer

Dark Seer has become one of the strongest heroes, thanks to Patch 7.28. He provides amazing control in team fights, is good at split pushing lanes into enemy towers, and also enables carries to fight and hit faster. If you pair him with any Agility hero like Riki or Phantom Assassin, he will soon go on to dominate the lane.

However, never first pick Dark Seer, as there are so many options the enemy can pick that will counter him. 2 chain stuns are enough to burst him down within a 5-second duration.

4. Viper

Viper is one of the nastiest heroes to play against in the off-lane. His poison attack will just melt enemy supports at the early levels, and after he hits level 6, his Viper Strike guarantees a kill if you have another hero with you. His ability to harass the enemy carry is extremely potent, and the carry soon has to abandon the lane or die repeatedly to Viper.

5. Death Prophet

While Death Prophet is traditionally played in the mid-lane, we have seen many teams in the DPC 2021 pick Death Prophet as an off-lane hero. This is because crypt swarm is one of the best abilities to clear creep waves. You cannot dispel Death Prophet’s soul siphon in the early game, nor the silence.

Exorcism is one of the best abilities in the game which lets you take towers relatively safely, and enemy teams are always hesitating to fight into exorcism.

Honorable Mentions: Underlord, Lycan & Razor
