Dota 2 Illusion Heroes: Ranking Illusion heroes from best to worst in Dota 2. In Dota 2, there are a few heroes which can create illusions of themselves or the enemy. Here is a list ranking illusion heroes from best to worst in Dota 2.

Dota 2 has a complex hero pool, and each of them have their unique abilities. Some heroes in Dota 2 can create illusions of themselves, while others can create illusions of their enemy to attack the opponent. In this article, we will be looking at all the heroes which can create illusions, and we will rank them.

Apart from heroes, there are namely 2 items in Dota 2 that will enable a hero to create illusions. These items are Illusionist Cape and Manta Style. Manta Style is available in the shop for any player who wants to purchase it. It costs 4,900 gold and is pretty useful on most carry heroes which wants to increase the number of illusions they create.

Illusionist Cape is a neutral item drop, and it is extremely useful, as you can use the illusion to bait out enemies & spells. Since the illusion created by Illusionist Cape is hard to distinguish from the original hero, this is a powerful item.

When it comes to heroes, there are a select few that can create illusions. These heroes are:

  1. Terrorblade
  2. Naga Siren
  3. Chaos Knight
  4. Phantom Lancer
  5. Dark Seer
  6. Grimstroke

Ranking illusion heroes in Dota 2

Terrorblade & Naga Siren are definitely in the race for the best illusion heroes. Although Phantom Lancer is close to the heals, the hero’s illusions can be easily cleared and dealt with. However, Terrorblade and Naga Siren are extremely hard to deal with in a team fight due to their respective Ultimates, Sunder, and Song of the Siren. Also, Terrorblade’s Metamorphosis is one of the best skills in the game, and illusions which are in the Metamorphosis form are a force to be reckoned with.

Apart from this, Terrorblade can also create illusions of the enemy to attack them with reflection. This makes Terrorblade a very difficult hero to deal with in all stages of the game.

Chaos Knight’s Ultimate allows the hero to conjure more and more illusions as it increases in level. By purchasing the Aghanim’s Scepter, Chaos Knight can create illusions of all his allies as well.

Dark Seer’s Wall of Replica creates illusions of every hero that passes through the wall, and it is one of the best combos to turn a team fight.

Grimstroke’s Dark Portrait requires you to purchase the Aghanim’s scepter, and it rarely happens in pub games. Hence, it is pretty underwhelming.

Honorable Mention

Shadow Demon: Shadow Demons’s Disruption creates 2 illusions of the target hero, but this skill is more of a save than a setup. The illusions aren’t powerful, although it can be used to scout the map easily without putting yourself in danger.
