The paint company decided to take a jibe after being affiliated with the club
Sponsorship deals are usually foraged with the motive of spurring on the growth of both the parties intertwining their strengths. However, Dulux had other plans ensuing the announcement of Tottenham’s sponsor on Thursday.
Dulux Ruthlessly Mock Tottenham
Revealed as Tottenham’s new paint sponsors, the club’s new associates, Dulux decided to have a hay day at the expense of their partners. Ushering in the news by a slew of swipes at Tottenham, Dulux went on an incredible tweeting spree.
Dulux who has posted the news of linking up with Tottenham on their Twitter account received a string of replies to the post. And the paint organisation decided to reply to the choosiest of those remarks, ones which allowed them to belittle Tottenham.
“Time to paint that trophy cabinet”, wrote an user on Dulux’s post to which the Dulux account replied with a mocked-up picture of an empty cabinet with the Tottenham logo, along with the words “For sale, unused trophy cabinet.”
The company didn’t stop there as it engaged in a bevy of other shenanigans as well. The comments are bound to have left Tottenham irate with Dulux doing more harm to the club rather than good.
Tottenham meanwhile are in a quagmire when it comes to footballing issues on the pitch as well. The side has won just twice in its last two outings with its 3-1 defeat to Manchester United at the weekend all but putting to bed any chances of making it to the top 4.
Adding to the club’s woes are the persistent antics from coach Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese has been unwilling to take any blame for his side’s demise, persistently hitting out at his players for the club’s dwindling propositions on the pitch.
Tottenham who are currently without a trophy since 2008 will have a chance to break that rut when they take on Manchester City in the FAC Cup summit clash later this month.
