Ed Woodward on Solskjaer’s appointment: Manchester United announced the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the caretaker manager.
Earlier today, Manchester United confirmed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be the caretaker boss of the club till the end of the season. The club announced the decision through their official handles, and also posted the club statement.
Solskjaer played for Manchester United for 10 years during his playing career, winning six Premier League titles. His injury-time winner against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in 1999 is still fondly remembered by the club’s fans.
The Norwegian will join Manchester United from Molde FK, and has a contract until the end of the season. Speaking after his appointment for the first time, Solskjaer said, “Manchester United is in my heart and it’s brilliant to be coming back in this role.
“I’m really looking forward to working with the very talented squad we have, the staff and everyone at the club.”

The club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward also spoke after the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Woodward stated that he expects the Norwegian to ‘unite’ the players and fans, while insisting that the club is delighted to have Mike Phelan on the board. Sir Alex Ferguson’s former assistant manager will perform a similar role with Solskjaer at the Manchester United.
